Halls

We are pleased to offer a range of accommodation for hire at our premises at Park Terrace, Stirling.

The premises comprise a number of different halls and meeting rooms, on three floors, suitable for gatherings of from 6 to 600 people. The main hall, library/meeting room, kitchen and toilet facilities have recently been extensively renovated to a very high standard. The ground floor, kitchen and toilet area is fully accessible to disabled users, however, the upper floors are accessible only by two sets of stairs. The premises do not currently, have the benefit of a lift.

The premises are heated throughout with the ground floor accommodation benefiting from the newly installed, under-floor heating system. The upper floor accommodation is heated by a series of electric wall heaters.

The Church (prices on application dependent on use)

The main Sanctuary seats approximately 600 people and in addition to its principal functions of Sunday worship, weddings, baptisms and funerals is available for larger gatherings such as concerts and has played host in the past to a number of choirs and musical ensembles.

The National Youth Choir of Scotland (NYCoS) are regular visitors for their annual training weekend which terminates in a short, informal concert given by the young people of the choir.

The church is equipped with its own sound/recording system, the church organ and a piano. Heating is by under pew heaters complimented by overhead booster heaters if required.

The Main Hall (£15.75 to £21/hour)

On the ground floor and completely refurbished in 2014 the main hall extends to some 128 sqm (16m x 8m) of useable floor space. A service hatch leads directly into the kitchen and with the adjacent chair/table stores, it can accommodate 150+ people.

The main hall laid out with a full size badminton courtThe hall is heated by an under-floor heating system and is equipped with a large, electrically operated cinema screen and laid out with a full size badminton court. (the height of the room makes it ideal for badminton.)

By prior arrangement, we can also provide an electronic keyboard. Current users vary from The Scouts; rehearsal space for various choirs; Stagecoach Theatre Arts Group and the smooth, unbroken floor finish makes it ideal for Ceilidhs.

The Maxwell Thorton Room (£10.5 to £13.65/hour)

The Maxwell Thornton roomOn the first floor, extending to some 48 sqm (8m x 6m), the Maxwell Thornton Room suits smaller gatherings of 20-30 people. More of a meeting room than an activity space, it is heated by a series of electric wall heaters. The room comes equipped with its own tables and chairs and is used currently, on a weekly basis, by Stirling Chess Club, Stirling Carers' Centre and as a meeting room for Stirling Presbytery.

The Gallery Room (£7.35 to £9.45/hour)

On the first floor, adjacent to the Maxwell Thornton Room and overlooking the main hall, this room (8m x 2.5m) serves as a small meeting room with a capacity of up to 10 people. With a screen and a digital projector, the room can be used as a small 'cinema' having no outside walls/windows.

Borrowed lighting and heating comes from the free form windows to the main hall and the heat transfer fans respectively.

The Anderson Hall (£10.5 to £13.65/hour)

The Anderson HallOn the second floor, extending to some 128 sqm and measuring 16m x 8m this is the second largest space available, outside of the church, with a capacity of up to 100 people. Fully carpeted, the room is heated by electric wall heaters and benefits from its own small, recently refurbished kitchen area. Access to the Anderson Hall is via the stairs at the north and south ends of the premises.

The Library/Meeting Room (£7.35 to £9.45 per hour)

The LibrarySituated on the ground floor immediately adjacent to the side entrance. This room houses the church library. At 5m x 4.5m the room is ideal for small meetings (up to 12 people.) It is equipped with 4 large easy chairs and a coffee table, but its use can be expanded with 'theatre' seats from the adjacent chair store. One wall has been left clear and forms an ideal screen for a digital projector. Heating is from the under-floor heating system.

The Kitchen (£6.30 to £10.50 flat rate)

The refurbished kitchenOn the ground floor, newly built and equipped in 2014 as part of the main hall refurbishment, the kitchen is available to all premises hirers at a flat rate of £6 per visit. If use of the kitchen is restricted to teas, coffees and biscuits, there is no charge. The charge is payable only if more substantial refreshments or meals are being provided. The kitchen is equipped with cups and mugs, saucers, plates, water glasses, soup bowls and an extensive array of cutlery; it also has the benefit of a commercial quality dishwasher.

Tables and Chairs

These are available, from separate stores on the ground floor, 7 large and 8 small collapsible tables and 100 modern, folding chairs which can mounted on a trolly for ease of handling. On the upper floors we have an additional 5 large folding tables and 85 chairs. In addition we have 3 small, folding childrens’ tables and 12 small chairs.

Parking

Limited parking is available to hirers at the rear and front entrances of premises.

Accessibility

Wheelchair access is from the low threshold entrance to the main church. This means that the entire ground floor is accessible to those with a disability. There is a disabled toilet on the ground floor. The upper floors are generally unsuitable for those with disabilities.
